art is a trade

Hi just sharing what I am doing in Belfast , ART IS A TRADE is a movement that treats creativity like a working skill, not a special talent.
It pushes back against the idea that art belongs to a select few and instead frames making as something everyday, learnable, and shared — the same way you’d learn any trade.

It’s about people working side‑by‑side, passing on techniques, experimenting, and building confidence through doing. No hierarchy, no gatekeeping, no polished “art world” expectations. Just practical creativity, open knowledge, and the belief that making things with your hands is valuable in its own right.

ART IS A TRADE is growing through workshops, conversations, and shared practice — a movement that puts craft, DIY, repair, and experimentation back at the centre of creative life.
