Discover The Bike Shed: London's iconic motorcycle venue with unique design and community vibe.

The Bike Shed London

Tucked beneath four massive Victorian railway arches in the heart of Shoreditch, The Bike Shed completely reshaped what a motorcycle venue could look like. For decades, biker spots were synonymous with greasy spoons and sticky floors. The Bike Shed replaced that with exposed brickwork, Chesterfield sofas, top-tier third-wave espresso, and craft cocktails—all while keeping raw motorcycle craft squarely at the center.

Inside, rare hand-built choppers, low-slung bobbers, and vintage cafe racers sit directly beside dining tables. The space isn't just a place to eat; it’s an ecosystem. Step deeper into the arches and you’ll find an upscale barber shop, a boutique stocked with heavy raw denim and hand-crafted leather goods, and a full resident tattoo studio. Here, riders routinely get fresh traditional or fine-line ink while their bikes cool down outside in the private courtyard.

The Origin Story

The venue began in 2011 not as a building, but as a digital blog founded by Anthony “Dutch” van Someren. Dutch set out to document the emerging custom motorcycle movement—a shift away from corporate sportbikes toward handmade, artistic machines built in shed workshops across Europe. The blog amassed a fanatic subcultural audience, which led to temporary pop-up exhibitions drawing thousands of riders, artists, and tattoo collectors. By 2015, the demand was undeniable: Dutch and his crew opened the doors to their permanent 12,000-square-foot brick sanctuary on Old Street, eventually expanding their empire across the Atlantic to downtown Los Angeles in 2022.
